What to wear to work: Men

Long gone are the days when suits were the only choice for men’s office wear. Nevertheless, history has done the hard work for you and proven that classics – like a shirt and blazer – never fail to say the right thing about a person. Make sure you give the look a modern twist by choosing a navy blazer like this Claudio Lugli one, with contrasting elbow, collar and button detail. Teamed with a crisp white shirt and some tan chinos, as shown below, you’ll have a look that’s ready for meetings – even those that run into the evening.

Switch up the colour palette with blue jeans and a grey blazer. Our leading choice is again from Claudio Lugli, but it’s a lightweight linen material, making it ideal for summertime when the office gets a bit stuffy. It will keep you looking smart, without making you overheat.

It’s worth mentioning how much wear you’ll get out of such combinations. Not only are they perfect for the office, but you’ll be able to make up different outfits and tailor the look to every occasion – be it the pub, the zoo or your in-law’s house.

Jeans, for instance, are a go-to wardrobe staple. We’ve featured a Luke 1977 skinny-fit blue pair, which are made from comfy cotton, so they’re easy to wear all day. Dress them up with a shirt for work, and re-wear with a t-shirt and jumper at the weekend.

You’ve also got to step up your style with your choice of footwear. Although it’s not as simple as getting the shoes right, they do add the finishing touch to a polished look. For our smarter looks, we’ve opted for loafers. Available in tan or navy suede, as well as some leather options, Hudson loafers are a versatile footwear choice, perfecting the balance between comfort and style. What’s more, Hudson is renowned for durability and desirability – so you know you’ll be wearing them time and time again.

For a more casual look, we’ve teamed some lightweight Luke 1977 trainers with a bomber jacket from Bellfield. It’s a contemporary take on office wear, which you’ll be reaching for when in need of an easy, stylish look midweek.

What to wear to work: Women

Women tend to remember outfits – whether that’s for good reasons, or bad ones. While it would be boring if everyone dressed the same, there are certain style essentials when deciding what to wear to work. Namely, they’ve got to be appropriate (no low-cut tops or short hemlines). To make your outfits memorable, for the right reasons, we’ve picked out three very different looks.

Instantly uplift your look, and mood, with an injection of colour with these patterned ICHI trousers. We love the energy of ICHI’s collections. The brand’s trendy vibe will fit seamlessly into the rest of your wardrobe. These lightweight and flattering trousers, as just one example, can be worn with loads of different tops – we just suggest you stick to a solid colour, unless you’re feeling particularly brave. We opted for a cut-out navy top

If you prefer dresses, why not try a denim option? This gorgeous dress from Bellfield is actually made from a soft touch tencel blend fabric, with concealed pockets. The A-line shape will suit different shapes and sizes, and we’ve added a belt to accentuate. Bellfield have got another similar option in a darker denim, with additional stitch detailing around the waist.

For our final work outfit, we suggest teaming your favourite jeans with an oversized blouse and heeled boots. Although you can’t see it from the image, this ICHI blouse has a slight sparkle to it. If glitter isn’t your thing, they’ve also got a similar striped shirt that would be great for work.

Any top and jeans combination is given a stylish edge when you put on a pair of heels, although you might want to make sure they’re a comfy pair for a day in the office.
